Templating and installation, start to finish

A successful fitting depends on decisions made before the stone arrives. Agree the sequence, responsibilities and readiness checks with us and the other trades working on your kitchen.

Confirm the specification first

Settle the material, finish, thickness, edges and appliance models before the final template. Agree which additional pieces are included and ask to see proposed joins or pattern alignment where those details matter.

Use a single current drawing. If a cabinet or appliance changes, tell us before work proceeds and ask whether the template or price needs revision.

Ask what must be ready for templating

Ask us for a site-readiness checklist. Ask about fixed and level cabinets, support, sink and hob information, wall preparation and access. Confirm whether appliances must be present or whether technical drawings are sufficient.

For a replacement project, clarify whether the old top is removed before measurement and how the kitchen will be left between visits. Do not assume every job follows the same sequence.

Approve the fabrication details

Review and approve the final dimensions and specification before fabrication. Check the number of pieces, exposed edges, openings, joins and any vertical panels. Ask how substitutions or changes would be agreed.

Keep a copy of the approved details. A conversation about an option is not the same as a written order for it.

Prepare for the fitting visit

Agree the delivery route and keep it clear. Confirm parking or loading arrangements, building access and any restrictions on working hours. Ask whether protective coverings and old-material disposal are included.

Arrange plumbing or electrical reconnection with the relevant trades. Confirm the safe return-to-use instructions with us, including any waiting period for adhesives or sealants.

Finish with a proper handover

Review the installed pieces together, record any outstanding items and obtain the care instructions. Ask who to contact about a later concern and what paperwork applies to workmanship and the material.

Timings depend on the material, stock and how ready the kitchen is, so you get dates for your own job rather than a standard turnaround. The quotation checklist helps you record that agreement.

Questions people ask

How long does fitting take?

Ask us for a project-specific schedule, including fabrication, fitting and reconnection. A fitting visit alone is not the whole lead time.

Can cabinets move after templating?

Changes can invalidate the measurements. Tell us immediately and get confirmation before proceeding.
