Worktop guide

What a worktop quote should cover

A clear quotation tells you exactly what you are paying for. This checklist covers what ours sets out, so that a price becomes an agreed specification with nothing left unclear.

The stone and the design

  • Exact material, manufacturer or stone name, colour and finish.
  • Slab thickness and any built-up edge detail.
  • Each worktop, wall piece, island end and additional item.
  • Sink, hob, tap and accessory openings.
  • Exposed edges, joins and pattern direction.
  • How actual slabs or substitutions will be approved.

The work at your property

  • Templating and any repeat-visit charges.
  • Old worktop removal and waste disposal.
  • Cabinet or wall preparation and support.
  • Delivery, unloading, access equipment and fitting.
  • Plumbing, electrical work and reconnection.
  • Making good tiles, walls or other finishes.

If an item is excluded, identify who is responsible and when it needs to happen. The installation guide helps you put those steps in order.

The commercial agreement

Ask for tax treatment, quote validity, payment stages and change procedures in writing. Confirm when material is reserved, when fabrication begins and which dates depend on site readiness or stock.

Your quote should make clear who supplies and fits the worktops and who to contact if anything needs attention after fitting.

The finish and handover

Confirm the agreed inspection and completion process. Ask what aftercare information is provided and whether separate material and workmanship terms apply.

Save a copy of the accepted quotation and drawing. If a detail changes later, keep the revised agreement together with the original so everyone is working from the same specification.

Prepare the first conversation

You do not need every answer before making an initial enquiry. Start with location, approximate dimensions, project type and the material options you are considering. Label open decisions so we can help resolve them.

The quote form shows the information that helps most.

Questions people ask

Should the quote include VAT?

It should make the applicable tax treatment clear. Ask what the quoted total includes before comparing or accepting it.

What if something I want isn't in the quote?

Ask us to add it. We would rather price the whole job properly at the start than surprise you later.
